Connect to machine using Cat ET and verify that 1639-9 (Machine Security System Module: Abnormal Update Rate) code is active, and the Security System Tamper Resistant in PL641 become "Not Installed". Refer to Illustration 1, If not active but logged, and tamper level 2 is not lost, go to Step 11.
Access status screens through the Service Dashboard. Refer to Troubleshooting, UENR5824 , "Web Configuration Home Page".
a. If the radio cannot be accessed , then verify that radio is powered and operational.
b. If the connections are good but the radio is not operational, then replace PL641 radio and ECM with security library. Refer to ECM-replace in Troubleshooting, UENR0629 - C4.4 and C7.1 Engines, Troubleshooting, UENR5949C4.4 - 312D2 and 313D2 Excavators Machine System, Troubleshooting, UENR2724 - 374F and 390F Excavators and 390F MHPU Mobile Hydraulic Power Unit. Refer to Table 2 for ECM part numbers.

Verify a good cellular signal and provider connection using the Communication Check tool in the Service Dashboard.
Verify a good GPS signal on the GPS Status page through ET. If Cellular or GPS is not operational, verify that antenna is operational.
Replace any damaged components - Harness or antenna is necessary to restore operation.

Reset tamper level by Feature Protection System (FPS) process in CAT ET.
a. Access to ET, go to Configuration Tool page.
b. Set the Security System Tamper Resistant Configuration to Level 2. Refer to Illustration 2 and Illustration 3.
C. Access to the FPS request Web, then FPS will be generated. After input factory password, confirm to change, tamper level 2 will reset successful.
Key Switch OFF, wait 5 minutes, then key Switch ON.
Check for 1639-9 code whether disappear. If not repeat Step 8 and Step 9.

Update Product Link PL641 radio to 512-8575 Monitor Software Gp.
a. At ECM Summary page in ET, Click Utilities->Preferences->Modify.
b. Select "Communications", choose "Ethernet Direct Connection" and available drive. Refer to Illustration 4.Note: Intel(R) Ethernet Connection 1217-LM, Intel(R) Ethernet Connection 1217-V, Intel(R) Ethernet Connection 1218-LM, and Intel(R) 82579LM Gigabit Network Connection are optional.

Access to Winflash, flash 512-8575 Monitor Software Gp to PL641. Refer to Illustration 5 and Illustration 6.Note: Notice the warning message, do keep power to the ECM during flash process.
