INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Use the instructions that follow to install the new two-piece wiring harness.
1. Remove the former 8V1024 Front Harness Assembly and all connected hardware.
Illustration 1. Specifications to fabricate Bar A.2. Fabricate two Bars A from high strength, low alloy steel as shown in Illustration 1.3. Fabricate one Bar B from high strength, low alloy steel as shown in Illustration 2.
Illustration 2. Specifications to fabricate Bar B.4. Weld one Bar A to the rear frame as shown in Illustration 3. Weld the other Bar A to the front frame as shown in Illustration 4.

Illustration 4. Location of Bars A and B and studs on front frame assembly.5. Weld Bar B to the front frame as shown in Illustration 4.6. Install the new 5V3856 Plate on the tilt cylinder.7. Install three 4K8479 Studs to the front frame as shown in Illustration 4.8. Install the 9V1204 and 8V9781 Wiring Harness Assemblies as shown in Illustration 5. If the machine is equipped with the signal lighting group, use the 9V1597 Wiring Harness Assembly instead of the 8V9781 Wiring Harness Assembly. The position of the wiring harness assembly to the lights is the same as with the former wiring harness assembly but the position to the hitch area and the bucket positioner has been changed. Make sure that the black wires are grounded correctly at Location C shown in Illustration 5.
Illustration 5. Location of wiring harness assemblies.9. After the wiring harness installations are complete, turn the machine to the left until the machine is fully articulated. Stop the engine. Adjust the harness assembly to make a smooth bend in the hitch area and tighten the hose clips. Then turn the machine to the right until it is fully articulated. Stop the engine. Check to make sure that the wiring harness and transmission cables do not contact each other. Make adjustments if necessary and tighten the wiring harness clips.10. Slowly raise, tilt and lower the bucket a number of times to make sure there is no contact to the wiring harness that can cause damage. Adjust the harness if necessary and tighten the clamps.
