Removal Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Drain the raw water system.
Remove clamp assembly (2) from auxiliary water pump (1).
Loosen clamps (4) and remove elbow (3) in order to relocate hose (5).
Remove clamps (11) and hose (10).
Remove hose assembly (9).
Remove clamp assembly (7) and manifold (8).
Attach a suitable lifting device to auxiliary water pump (1). The weight of auxiliary water pump (1) is approximately 33 kg (72 lb). Remove nuts (6).
Remove auxiliary water pump (1) and the gasket from the timing gear housing.
