Removal Procedure
Start By:
Connect the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
Release the pressure in the steering system and in the braking system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "System Pressure - Release".
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Hot oil and hot components can cause personal injury. Do not allow hot oil or hot components to contact skin.
Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses and all tubes. This will help to prevent fluid loss and this will help to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and electrical connector (3) from parking brake control valve (1).

Disconnect the strip and block (4).
Remove bolts (6) and parking brake control valve (1).
Remove the hydraulic fitting and parking brake pressure switch (5). Installation Procedure
Note: Thoroughly clean all parts of the parking brake control valve prior to installation. Inspect all parts and replace any parts that are worn or damaged.
Inspect the O-ring seals in the ends of the hose assemblies. If any of the O-ring seals are damaged, use new parts for replacement. Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean hydraulic oil.

Install the hydraulic fitting and parking brake pressure switch (5).
Install parking brake control valve (1) and bolts (6).
Connect the strip and block (4).

Connect electrical connector (3) and hose assemblies (2) to parking brake control valve (1).
Fill the hydraulic tank for the steering system and for the braking system with oil. For the correct procedure, refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual for your machine.
Start the engine and check for leaks. Note: After the steering frame lock is separated, check for proper operation of the parking brake.End By:
