With certain attachment combinations, the third pedal can have different functions. Always check for third pedal function before using the third pedal. Improper operation of the third pedal could result in serious injury or death.

(1) High pressure control (2) Medium pressure controlNote: If the machine is equipped with a straight travel pedal, consult your Caterpillar dealer for the correct operation of the foot pedals.Examples of medium pressure circuits are tilting buckets and rotation of the work tool.

Right pedal (3) Lock pin (A) LOCKED position (B) UNLOCKED position (STORAGE position)In order to use the two-way foot pedal, remove lock pin (3) from LOCKED position (A) and place lock pin (3) in UNLOCKED position (B) .When you are not using the two-way foot pedal, put lock pin (3) in LOCKED position (A) on both the left pedal and the right pedal. This will lock the pedals in order to help prevent any unexpected operation of the work tool.

(3) Lock pin (4) Pin (5) NotchNote: To prevent lock pin (3) in the right pedal from being accidentally pulled out, insert pin (4) through notch (5). Turn lock pin (3) counterclockwise by 1/4 turn. To prevent lock pin (3) in the left pedal from being accidentally pulled out, insert the pin. Turn the lock pin clockwise by 1/4 turn.
Work Tool CLOCKWISE ROTATION - Push down on top of foot pedal (2) in order to rotate the work tool clockwise.
Work Tool COUNTERCLOCKWISE ROTATION - Push down on the bottom of foot pedal (2) in order to rotate the work tool counterclockwise. Examples of high pressure circuits are shears and crushers.
Work Tool CLOSE - Push down on top of foot pedal (1) in order to close the work tool.
Work Tool OPEN - Push down on the bottom of foot pedal (1) in order to open the work tool. Joystick Control

Work tool CLOSE (7) - Push slide control (7) forward in order to close the work tool.
Work tool OPEN (7) - Push slide control (7) rearward in order to open the work tool.
Work tool CLOCKWISE ROTATION (6) - Push slide control (6) forward in order to rotate the work tool clockwise.
Work tool COUNTERCLOCKWISE ROTATION (6) - Push slide control (6) rearward in order to rotate the work tool counterclockwise.
