Attach the motor to the case for the pulley. Use the four screws (F) that were removed in Step 6. Tighten the screws to a torque of 0.50 0.07 N m (4.5 0.7 lb in). Refer to Illustration 22.

Attach the motor to the cover. Use two screws (E) that were removed in Step 5. Install new seal washers (10) that are included in the new motor repair kit (6). Tighten the screws to a torque of 1.00 0.15 N m (8.9 1.3 lb in). Refer to Illustration 23.Adjusting the Governor Actuator

Connect the 248-4754 Harness (5) to the potentiometer.

Connect the terminals (A) for the motor. Attach the 188-8589 Harness (4) .

Connect one 4Y-4079 Wire Assembly (1) from +BAT to the +BAT terminal on the 188-8589 Harness (4). Connect one 4Y-4079 Wire Assembly (1) from ground to the ground terminal on the 188-8589 Harness (4) .

Connect a multimeter to the 248-4754 Harness (5). Make sure that the multimeter is set in the mode for the measurement of voltage.

Connect 4Y-4079 Wire Assembly (1) and 188-8589 Harness (4). Use terminal (U) for the measurement of the voltage for the accelerator cable. If the voltage on the multimeter is less than 4.13 V, adjust the potentiometer until the multimeter reads 4.13 0.10 V.
Disconnect the equipment that was installed in Steps 25 through 29.

Adjust the inserted length of the accelerator cable. The length (V) between the outer cable and the universal joint should be 175 5 mm (6.9 0.2 inch).
Tighten the locknut (W) on the accelerator cable to a torque of 5.05 0.75 N m (45 7 lb in), and apply 155-0695 Thread Lock Compound or 185-3998 Thread Lock Compound (3) to the locknut.Completing the Assembly

Install new gasket (8) that is included in the new motor repair kit (6). Apply 152-9155 Adhesive (2) to the gasket.

Insert grommet (D) into the case. Apply 152-9155 Adhesive (2) to the grommet.

Connect the terminals (B) for the motor. The two red terminals should be connected, and the two white terminals should be connected. Connect the potentiometer with the connector (C) .

Attach the cover to the case. Use six screws (A) that were removed in Step 1. Tighten the screws to a torque of 0.50 0.07 N m (4.5 0.7 lb in).
