(6) Message area.A dash mounted data link connector (5) is available on machines that are equipped with the VIDS. Two dash mounted data link connectors are used on machines that are equipped with the VIMS. The data link connector (5) is located under the dashboard near the center of the dashboard. The data link connector (5) is used to download information from the VIDS and the VIMS to a separate service tool.The machines that are equipped with the VIMS have additional switches and sensors on the machine. These additional components are connected to the monitoring system.A Warning Category 3 alerts the operator that engine shutdown should occur as soon as possible. This helps prevent injury to the operator or potential damage to the machine.A Warning Category 3 causes both action lamp (1) and alert indicator (3) to flash. A Warning Category 3 also causes the action alarm to sound. A message also appears in message area (6). In some cases, universal gauge (4) may show a relative value.Note: Do NOT operate the machine until the cause of the warning has been corrected.A list of possible problems with the power train system follows. The fault codes from the VIDS and the VIMS will be displayed in the message center module (2). Problems that appear below in bold text indicate a possible Warning Category 3.
