(1) Hydraulic tank

(5) Return port for the piston pumps The hydraulic tank is located on the outside of the right side of the frame. The hydraulic tank has three sections. Fill port (2) is for hydraulic tank (1). Hydraulic tank (1) contains oil for the hoist system and for brake cooling. Hydraulic tank (1) contains a small internal tank (6). Internal tank (6) supplies the oil for brake actuation and for the rear axle lubrication drive. The internal tank is used to keep the brake actuation oil free of contaminants that return with the brake cooling oil. Fill port (3) is for steering hydraulic tank (4). Steering hydraulic tank (4) contains oil for the steering system, the piston pump that drives the fan drive motor, and the piston pump that drives the piston motor for the brake cooling pump sections. An air breather for hydraulic tank (1) and an air breather for steering hydraulic tank (4) are located on the vertical frame member on the right side of the truck.Hydraulic tank (1) has three sight gauges. All of the sight gauges are located on the front of hydraulic tank (1). The sight gauge that is located on the top left of hydraulic tank (1) is used to check the oil level in small internal tank (6). The small internal tank is used to hold oil for the brake actuation and the lubrication of the rear axle drive. The sight gauge in the small internal tank indicates when it is safe to start the machine. The sight gauge that is located on the top right is used to check the oil level when the hoist cylinders are in the LOWER position. Steering hydraulic tank (4) has one sight gauge. The gauge is used to check the oil level when the oil is cold and the engine is not operating. The oil level in the sight gauge will drop when the engine is operating and the accumulators are fully charged.
