HOSE AS 2299752 - Caterpillar

It will be necessary to modify engine support bracket (2) in order to mount the new 8U-4762 Starting Motor Group in place. The plate closest to the starter needs to be modified. Illustration 2 shows the area of the bracket which needs to be modified by grinding material away for increased clearance.
A new 8U-5611 Engine Mounting Group is available that matches with the new starting motor. The new right-hand support bracket in the mounting group provides for increased clearance for the starter.

The relay switch and wiring harnesses were needed to protect the former starter from power surges, but are no longer needed with the new starter.
