Make sure that the hydraulic track adjuster is thoroughly clean. Also, make sure that the mounting surfaces are thoroughly clean.

Push the piston of track adjuster (2) into the cylinder assembly by hand. Push the piston into the cylinder as far as possible.

Use a pry bar to move the front idler and recoil spring assembly forward in the undercarriage frame. An additional length of 152 mm (6.0 inch) is required to install the track adjuster in position.Note: Make sure that the fill and relief valves in the hydraulic track adjuster are facing toward the opening in the side of the undercarriage frame.

Position track adjuster (2) in the undercarriage frame. Install mounting bolts (1).
Use a pry bar to move the front idler and the recoil spring against the hydraulic track adjuster.
Install the track roller that is located directly under the hydraulic track adjuster. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Roller - Remove and Install".

Raise the machine off Tooling (A) and remove the stands from the machine. Lower the machine to the floor.End By:
