Location of the sight gauge for the differential and final drives
Park the machine on a level surface and engage the parking brake.

Use sight gauge (1) to check the oil level for the differential and final drives.
Maintain the proper oil level (2) at the bottom of the sight gauge.

If necessary, add oil. Use filler plug (3) for the final drive in order to add oil. When the drain plug is in the lowest position, the filler plug will be at the correct oil level. Make sure that the filler plug is positioned above the oil level in the final drive in order to prevent any oil from draining out. Allow the oil to fill all of the compartments before rechecking the oil level. Note: Overfilling the differential and final drives will cause overheating and foaming of the oil in long hauling applications and high speed applications. A reduction of the life of components may be the result of overheating and foaming of the oil.
