(1) Brake cooling hydraulic filters Oil from the hydraulic oil tank flows to the oil pump. The parking brake release section of the pump sends oil to the parking and secondary brake valve. If the relief valve is open, the bypass oil flows to brake cooling hydraulic filters (1). The brake cooling hydraulic filters (1) also receive oil from the hoist control valve.If the element becomes full of debris, the pressure will increase inside the filter due to the restriction of flow. The pressure oil causes the bypass valve to move against the force of the spring. Also, the bypass switch will be activated and an alarm will be registered in the cab.The oil then flows past the open bypass valve and to the remainder of the hydraulic system. When the oil does not flow through the filter screen and the element, the debris in the oil will cause damage to other components in the hydraulic system.Use the correct maintenance interval in order to make sure that the element does not become full of debris. If the element is full of debris, the flow of clean oil to the hydraulic system is stopped.
