Safety PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR INSPECTING THE ROLLOVER PROTECTIVE SYSTEM(ROPS) ON CERTAIN D11R TRACK-TYPE TRACTORS

This Program must be administered assoon as possible. When reporting the repair, use "PI10287as the Part numberand "7751" as the Group Number, "56" as the Warranty Claim DescriptionCode and "T" as the SIMS Description Code. Exception: If the repair isdone after failure, use "PI10287" as the Part Number, "7751" as the GroupNumber, "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code, and "Z" as the SIMSDescription Code.PROBLEM
The Rollover Protective System (ROPS) canopy needsto be inspected on certain D11R Track-Type Tractors. The results of theinspection will determine if the ROPS needs to be replaced.AFFECTED PRODUCT

Since Caterpillar has arranged forthe inspections of the ROPS through various suppliers the Dealer's costsassociated with these inspections will vary. Dealers should document andclaim for any misc. costs that they have incurred. The claims may includeitems such as R&I/shipping of ROPS to examination area, R&I laborto install a temporary ROPS until original ROPS could be inspected, laborto accompany third party inspectors, checking for serial/sequence numbers,etc.
