Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.Problem
There is a possibility that the engine wiring harness has not been installed correctly. The harness can rub against the heat shield for the EGR causing the harness to melt and short, causing the engine ECM fuse to fail. There is also a possibility that the engine wiring harness break out for the fuel rail pressure sensor can be incorrectly positioned causing unwanted tension on the wires. Solution
Perform the following corrective actions to resolve the issues described above.

(1) Engine harness installed incorrectly (2) Engine harness installed correctly
Route the engine harness as shown in Illustration 1. Ensure that the cable tie is secured at the point of green marker tape.

(3) Breakout harness incorrectly routed with wires opposite to sensor resulting in wires pulled tight. (4) Breakout harness correctly routed with wires on same side as sensor.
Route the breakout harness for the rail pressure sensor so that the breakout is on the same side as the sensor. Refer to Illustration 2

(5) Harness incorrectly tied through ladder clip holes 3 & 5. (6) Harness correctly tied through ladder clip holes 1 & 3.
Ensure that the wiring harness is tied through the ladder clip holes 1 & 3. Refer to Illustration 3.
