When viewing readout (13), the dot must be in the lower right corner.Detected fault mode (mode 1) is the display mode that allows for troubleshooting and clearing of each detected fault. For each detected fault, the display shows service personnel which component is faulty, the type of fault, the number of times the fault has occurred, and if the fault is present now. While in detected fault mode, a fault is described the same as when in normal mode (CID, FMI, and the fault present indicator). However, the number of occurrences of each fault is also shown. The occurrence identifier (OID) is a two-digit number that tells the number of times a fault has occurred. The two digits are preceded by the letter C. The OID is shown immediately after the FMI is shown on readout (13). For example: "C12" means that the fault has occurred 12 times.The combination of CID, FMI, OID, and fault present indicator (9) describe one detected fault. Fault present indicator (9) is ON.Then the circuit for the downshift solenoid has been shorted to +bat five times and the fault is present now. See the topic Detected Faults in the Testing and Adjusting section for a description of each CID and FMI.The occurrence identifier (OID) and fault present indicator (9) assist service personnel during troubleshooting of intermittent faults. When fault present indicator (9) is ON, the fault shown is currently present. When fault present indicator (9) is OFF, the fault shown is not present at this time but has occurred previously. This helps in troubleshooting of intermittent faults. When the fault shown changes status from not present to present, fault present indicator (9) also changes respectively from OFF to ON.While in detected fault mode, readout (13) shows one fault (CID, FMI, and OID) at a time. This is the time for troubleshooting of the fault shown. This information remains shown until the fault is cleared or the display is advanced to the next detected fault.Momentarily pressing the set switch advances readout (13) to show the next detected fault.After a fault is corrected, it is necessary to clear (erase) the fault from the memory of ESTC II. Momentarily pressing the clear switch removes the fault from ESTC II memory and advances the readout to show the next detected fault.Note: Clearing a fault is only possible when it is NOT present now and the fault present indicator (9) is OFF.
