Remove the three track shoes over the area of the track that has damage. Remove the track. See Separation of Tracks. Place both ends of the track joints on 15.2 mm (0.6 inch) wood blocks.
As the track assembly is disassembled, do not cause damage to the parts. Put all of the parts in a position so the ends of the bushings, the thrust rings, pins and seals can not be damaged.

Install ram adapter (1) of Tooling (B) on the ram assembly. Install the 1P-3483 Pin Adapter (2) of Tooling (C) on the frame so that the flat side of Tooling (A) will be toward the link. Use Tooling (D) in order to push track pin (3) out of the track assembly.
Check the track pin for damaged areas. If the track pin is not damaged, remove the track pin all the way out of the track assembly.
Do not remove the track pin all of the way. Damage to the pin bore and link will be the result.
Remove Tooling (D). Make a separation of the track pin with a cutting torch. Hit the short end of the track pin with a hammer until the track pin is inside the bushing.
Remove the next track pin.
Illustration 3 g00739039
Put Tooling (I) between the track links. Push the links away from each other enough to make a separation of the track chain.
Illustration 4 g00739041
Use shim stock (4) as protection for the face of the seals when the track chain is pulled apart.
Illustration 5 g00739063
Remove the thrust ring (6) from both track links. Remove seal assembly (5) from both track links only if a replacement is necessary.
Illustration 6 g00739043
Move Tool (I) to the next set of track links. Use Tool (I) to separate the links from each other enough to remove the link and remove bushing assembly (7) .
Use shim stock as protection for the face of the seals when the link and bushing assembly is removed.

Install the 8S-9975 Ram Adapter (8) of Tooling (E) on the ram and the 7S-8469 Bushing Adapter (11) of Tooling (F) on the frame. Put the 2S-8235 Bushing Adapter (9) of Tooling (A) in the bushing of the link and bushing assembly. Install the link and bushing assembly in Tooling (G) and remove link (10) from the bushing.
Illustration 8 g00739045
Turn the link. Turn the bushing. Use Tooling (G) to remove link (12) from bushing (13) .
