Single Camera Operation
Most applications of WAVES will use three cameras. If a single camera system is installed, the single camera configuration does not use the 251-4168 Switch .In a single camera system, the camera is to be located to provide a rearward view. The Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) screen is normally off until the camera system is activated manually or automatically to "wake up". The display remains off so that the screen will not cause distractions. The customer can choose the type of input that will cause the camera system to "wake up". "Input 1" must be wired in order to provide an input voltage signal that is greater than +9VDC when the reverse gear is selected. An example for the source of the input voltage that is necessary to activate the "input 1" can be the backup alarm or backing lights. When the ignition key is turned ON, the display will power up in the default mode, that is, not in the "Standby" mode. The "Standby" mode can be selected by pressing the "Standby On/Off" button (3) that is on the display key pad. The display will go blank until "input 1" reaches a voltage of greater than +9VDC. When the input voltage goes below +9VDC, the display will once again go blank. In order to exit the "Standby" mode, press the "Standby On/Off" button (3) again and the system will return to the "default" mode.Note: In single camera installations, the "Camera Select" button (1) is disabled. The single camera operation can be used even if a 251-4168 Switch is installed.Multiple Camera Operation
In the multiple camera system, the default camera will usually be the camera that is positioned to look toward the front area of the machine. The default camera has the lowest priority. Therefore, camera 1 will be the camera used to view the front area of the machine. For some applications of this product, the use of the standby feature may be preferable. In order to activate the standby feature, press the "Standby On/Off" button (3) on the display. In order to exit the "Standby" mode, press the "Standby On/Off" button (3) a second time. If no inputs are +9VDC or higher, then the display will be blank. If any input becomes active, that camera view will be displayed until the voltage of that input becomes less than +9VDC. If more than one input is active at the same time, the highest priority camera with an active input will be displayed. If the "Standby" mode is not selected, the WAVE system will either be in the default mode with no active inputs or be in the auto mode. In the default mode, camera 1 will be displayed on the display. If WAVES is in the auto mode, the highest priority camera that has an active input will be shown on the display. The WAVE system can be placed in manual mode at any time. The manual mode is the highest priority mode. When the camera select button is pressed, the operator
