Remove & Install Air Inlet Heater
1. Disconnect wire assembly (1) from the air inlet heater.2. Remove nut (3) that holds the ground strap to the air inlet heater.3. Disconnect the hose assembly from air inlet elbow (2).4. Remove eight bolts (4) and the washers. Remove air inlet elbow (2) and air inlet heater (5). The following steps are for the installation of the air inlet heater.5. Clean the air inlet heater joint face with solvent. Apply 6V1541 Quick Cure Primer on the joint face. Allow the primer to air dry three to five minutes minimum.6. Apply 8C8422 Sealant to the joint face of the air inlet heater and on the joint face of air inlet elbow (2). The air inlet heater and inlet elbow must be installed and tightened in position within ten minutes after sealant application.7. Put air inlet heater (5) and inlet elbow (2) in position on the engine. Install eight bolts (4) and the washers that hold the components in position.8. Connect the ground strap to the air inlet heater with nut (3).9. Connect wire assembly (1) to the air inlet heater. Tighten the nut that holds the wire assembly to a torque of 7.8 1.0 N m (70 9 lb in).
