The seals on the air cleaner element need to bechecked to make sure they are in place and bonded sufficiently to the cleanerelement. If seal "A" is not correctly bonded to the air filter elementit can cause a leak path that will allow dirt entry in to the engine intakesystem. The snap fit seal is not bonded to the element. It should be inspectedto make sure it is in place and not damaged. If this seal is not in placeor damaged it will shorten element life.ACTION REQUIRED
Inspect the seals on both ends of the air filterelement to make sure they are in place and properly bonded to the elementsurface. See Illustration 1.SERVICE CLAIM ALLOWANCES
Submit one claim for all 9Y7662 removed from partsstock.PARTS DISPOSITION
All dealers are to make sure the outsideof the shipping container is marked PI70049.***** U.S. and Canadian Dealers *****Return all 9Y7662 that are removed from partsstock and a copy of the claim to:Caterpillar Inc.
