1. Install Tooling (A) to both sides of the rear axle housing and differential assembly. Attach a hoist and suitable lifting chains to Tooling (A). The weight of the rear axle housing and differential assembly is 4470 kg (9856 lb).2. Install the rear axle housing and differential assembly to the machine. 3. Install eight bolts (7), eight nuts (8), eight locknuts (9) and the washers to the rear axle housing and differential assembly.4. Tighten eight bolts (7) to a torque of 1800 200 N*m (1330 150 lb ft).5. Tighten eight locknuts (9) to a torque of 850 100 N*m (625 75 lb ft). 6. Connect hose assemblies (5) and (6). 7. Connect hose assemblies (1), (2), (3) and (4).8. Fill the rear differential and final drives with oil. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Differential and Final Drive Oil - Change" for the machine that is being serviced.9. Purge the air from the braking system. Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, Braking System, "Braking System Air - Purge" for the machine that is being serviced.10. Fill the hydraulic tank with oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Hydraulic Tank Oil Level - Check" for the machine that is being serviced. End By:a. Install the rear drive shaft. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, Machine Systems, "Dump Body - Install" for the machine that is being serviced.d. Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect" for the machine that is being serviced.
