To ensure maximum transmission life, avoid using the inching clutch control as a footrest.Use of the inching clutch control is only necessary if the low gears are not slow enough at moderate/low engine speeds to give precise control for operations such as attaching implements or maneuvering in confined spaces.Repeated use of the inching clutch control for starting under load may shorten transmission clutch life.

The operation of the inching clutch control is similar to the operation of a clutch. Use the inching clutch control in order to control the engagement of the transmission in the following situations: attaching implements and operation in confined spaces. Use the inching clutch control in order to disengage the transmission when you stop the machine.Do not use the inching clutch control when you start the machine under load or when you change gears. In order to start the machine, move the transmission control to the FORWARD position or to the REVERSE position. Then, the transmission will automatically modulate the clutch engagement in order to provide a smooth start.The inching operation is optimum when the machine is operated in the lowest speeds. F1 and R3 are the lowest speeds. The magnitude of precise inching control diminishes as you move toward 10th speed.The inching clutch control can also be used to automatically select a speed for matching the following conditions: load, engine speed and road conditions.
