The following steps are necessary in order to select the thickness of shim (20) .
Install center pin (25) and spring (21). Install retainer plate (23). Install three screws (22) .

Install Tooling (A) in barrel assembly (19). Use a small amount of petroleum jelly to hold Tooling (A) in place during installation.

Install barrel assembly (19) in the housing.

Use six bolts (3) to install head assembly (4). Rotate the shaft assembly as the bolts are being tightened. Tighten bolts (3) to a torque of 87 6 N m (65 5 lb ft).
Remove bolts (3) and head assembly (4) .

Remove barrel assembly (19) .

Remove Tooling (B) from barrel assembly (19) .

Measure the thickness of Tooling (B) in order to attain Dimension (Z). Subtract -.02 .05 mm (.0008 .0020 inch) from Dimension (Z). This amount is the Dimension that is needed to select the correct shim.

Remove three screws (22). Remove center pin (25) and spring (20). Remove retainer plate (23) .

Install two rings (26) .Note: Install the marked sides of rings (26) opposite the ball end of piston (24) .
Repeat step 13 for the remaining piston assemblies.

Apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock Compound to the thread of fourteen screws (22) .
Install piston assemblies (24) and center pin (25) .
Use fourteen screws (22) to install retainer plate (23). Torque the screws to 9.1 .7 N m (81 6 lb in).

Install spring (21) and shim (20) .

Install the barrel assembly, dowels (15), and O-ring seal (17) .
Use six bolts (3) to install head (4) .

Install the spring and cover (2).
Repeat step 21 for the other spring and the other cover.
