Location of the Rotator on the Harvester HeadThe rotator allows the harvester head to rotate about the vertical axis. Two hydraulic oil lines connect the rotator to the implement control valve on the machine. When the operator moves the control lever, pressurized oil flows through one hydraulic hose assembly to the rotator. Low pressure oil returns to the implement control through the other hydraulic hose assembly.

(C) Port for the tilt cylinders on the harvester head.The rotator is a bidirectional hydraulic motor. When pressure oil enters ports (A) or (B) of rotor (1) the harvester head rotates. The oil enters the chamber of stator frame (4). The oil forces vanes (3) to rotate shaft (2). The shaft forces stator (5) and the harvester head to rotate.Note: Ports (C) are used for oil flow to the tilt cylinders on the harvester head. The oil enters ports (C) and the oil exits through the ports in the bottom of stator (5) .The direction of rotation is determined by the hydraulic hose assembly that is under pressure. By changing the direction of oil flow to the rotator, the direction of rotation of the harvester head changes. The rotator does not have a stop in order to limit the rotation of the harvester head.
