(2) Brake and pilot pump The rotation of the shaft is clockwise when viewed from drive end.Hoist pump (1) and brake and pilot pump (2) are part of a two-section gear type pump. Brake and pilot pump (2) are mounted to the pump drive section of the engine flywheel housing.Hoist pump (1) is a fixed displacement pump that sends oil to the hoist control valve. The hoist control valve will send pump oil to one of two locations. When the body is being raised or lowered, the hoist cylinders receive the oil. If the hoist is not being used, the oil flows to the oil cooling system for the brakes.Brake and pilot pump (2) is a fixed displacement pump which sends oil to the hoist pilot circuit, the service brake circuit, the parking brake circuit and the steering pilot circuit.
