Install bevel gear (18).

Install sleeves bearing (16), bevel pinion gear (15), and thrust washer (17) onto spider (14). Repeat this step for the remaining bevel pinion gears (15).

Install spider assembly (14) .

Install differential housing (12) . Use two people to turn over differential (10). The weight of differential (10) is approximately 70 kg (154 lb).

Attach Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to differential (10). The weight of differential (10) is approximately 70 kg (154 lb).
Install bolts (11). Do not tighten bolts (11) now.

Use Tooling (E) and the suitable lifting device to position differential (10) onto Tooling (F). Remove Tooling (E).

Tighten bolts (11) to a torque of 95 10 N m (70 7 lb. ft.).

Use Tooling (G) to tighten bolts (11) an additional 180° 5°.

Before assembly, thoroughly coat friction discs (7) with Tooling (F).
Install differential gear (9), nine plates (8), and nine friction discs (7).

Install springs (6).

Install thrust washer (4).Note: Install thrust washer (4) with groove side against gear.

Raise the temperature of bearing cone (3). Install bearing cone (3) onto differential case (2).

Install differential housing assembly (2). Be sure that Alignment Marks (X) are aligned. Install bolts (1). Tighten bolts (1) to a torque of 300 40 N m (221 30 lb ft).End By:
