2. Fasten a hoist to fan adapter (1). Remove guard assembly section (3), (top left).
Do not cause damage to the radiator core when the fan assembly is put in position against it.
3. Remove bolts (2) from adapter (1). Lower the fan assembly to put it in position against the radiator core. Weight of the fan assembly is 95 lb. (43 kg). 4. Put pressure on the fan belt tightener with a pry bar. With pressure on the fan belt tightener, remove the vee belts (4).5. Disconnect the spring from the belt tightener.6. Remove bolts (5) from governor control linkage (6). 7. Fasten a hoist to the fan drive bracket assembly (7). Remove four bolts (8). Remove fan drive and fan belt tightener as a unit. The weight is 94 lb. (43 kg).Install Fan Drive And Fan Belt Tightener
1. Check seals for damage. If damaged, use new parts for replacement. 2. Put fan drive and fan belt tightener (2) in position on engine timing gear cover (3). Install bolts (1). 3. Connect spring (5) to fan belt tightener and install vee belt set (4).4. Install governor control linkage (6). 5. Install seal (7) on the fan bearing. Put fan adapter (8) in position on the fan hub assembly and install the bolts.6. Install the fan guard assembly.
