Position Tooling (A) under the offset boom, as shown. Position the stick, the offset boom, the fore boom, and the stub boom, as shown. This position will allow stub boom cylinder (1) to clear the offset boom cylinder bracket.
At operating temperature, the hydraulic oil is hot and under pressure. Hot oils can cause burns.To prevent possible personal injury, release the pressure in the implement hydraulic circuit (boom, stick, bucket, and swing), travel circuits, and the hydraulic oil tank at the filler cap before any hydraulic lines or components are disconnected or removed.Remove the filler cap only when the engine is stopped and the filler cap is cool enough to touch.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".

Disconnect five hose assemblies (2) from the head end of stub boom cylinder (1). Install plugs on hose assemblies (2). Install caps on the block that is located on the head end of stub boom cylinder (1). This procedure will prevent oil loss. This procedure also prevents contaminants from entering the hydraulic system.
Disconnect grease line (3) from the head end of stub boom cylinder (1) .
Attach a lifting sling and a hoist to the rod end of stub boom cylinder (1). Place a small amount of lifting tension on stub boom cylinder (1) .
