Flash Controller and Flashing the Software
Perform the steps in "Setting Up" in Troubleshooting, "Determining Diagnostic Trouble Codes".
Obtain the applicable flash file. Refer to "Obtaining ECM Diagnostic and Flash Files" in Troubleshooting, "Determining Diagnostic Trouble Codes".

Click the "File Menu" from the top left.
Select the "File Download".

A file download pop up box may be displayed. If there is more than one ECM on the machine, select the desired ECM. Click "OK".

The Open file for download box will display.
Browse to the location where the desired application file is located.
Select the desired application file from the "File Download Screen". See Illustration 4.

A warning may appear stating a memory compatibility issue exists. Click the "Ignore" button.

Click on the "Start Download" button.

Note: If the application (flash file) type does not match the application type already on the ECM, a mismatch error will be displayed. To address this issue perform the following steps.
Confirm that the selected flash file is the desired flash file. The selected flash file is listed in the File Download window. If the incorrect file was selected, select "Cancel" and repeat the process to select the correct file. If the correct file has been selected continue to the next step.
Enter the new software part number in the location provided.
Do not include dashes.
Do not include the revision lever.
If the new software name is not accepted, review the service literature that specified the new flash file to see if an alternate application type as been provided. Otherwise, contact DSN for further advice.
Once the application type issue is resolved, the download process will automaticlly start.

Respect the "Warning" to not disconnect until download is complete.
A window may appear stating that the tool key must be enabled. On asphalt compactors, select "ACOM".
Operation is complete.
