Note: The following procedure requires an operator and an assistant.
Drive the machine to a smooth, horizontal surface.

Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.
Rotate speed dial (2) to the MINIMUM position.
Move parking brake switch (1) to the ON position.

Move screed lift switch (4) to the RAISE position. Completely lift the screed.

Engage screed lock mechanism (5) on both sides of the machine.
Move screed lift switch (4) to the FLOAT position. Move the screed lift switch on the right instrument panel to the FLOAT position.Note: The screed lift switch on both instrument panels must be in the FLOAT position in order for the screed to lower.
After the screed is resting on the screed lock mechanisms, move screed lift switch (4) to the HOLD position.

Move right screed extend switch (7) to the EXTEND position. Release the switch when the right screed extender is fully extended.
Move left screed extend switch (6) to the EXTEND position. Release the switch when the left screed extender is fully extended.

Move throttle control switch (8) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
After the engine reaches low idle, move engine start switch (9) to the OFF position.

Install a small piece of reflective tape from Tool (A) on vibrator shaft (10) .
Move engine start switch (9) to the START position. Release the engine start switch when the engine starts.
Move throttle control switch (8) to the HIGH IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second. The engine speed should increase to 2200 rpm.

Monitor the hydraulic oil temperature on the operator display. Operate the machine until the oil temperature reaches 37.8 °C (100 °F).
Move screed lift switch (4) to the RAISE position. Completely lift the screed.
Disengage screed lock mechanism (5) on both sides of the machine.
Move screed lift switch (4) to the FLOAT position. Move the screed lift switch on the right instrument panel to the FLOAT position.Note: The screed lift switch on both instrument panels must be in the FLOAT position in order for the screed to lower.
After the screed rests on the ground, move screed lift switch (4) to the HOLD position.

Move propel mode switch (11) to the PAVE position.

Move vibrator switch (12) on the left instrument panel to the ON position.Note: The parking brake should be in the ON position during this operation.
Move propel lever (3) to the FORWARD position.
Move speed dial (2) to the midrange position.

Have the assistant rotate vibrator speed dial (13) on the main screed operator station to the MAXIMUM position.
Have an assistant use Tool (A) in order to measure the vibrator speed. The speed should be 3000 300 rpm.
Move propel lever (3) to the NEUTRAL position.
Move vibrator switch (12) on the left instrument panel to the OFF position.
Move throttle control switch (8) to the LOW IDLE position. Hold the switch in this position for less than 1 second.
