Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness connector from the switch.
With the switch in the OFF position, measure the resistance from switch contact 1 to the common contact of the switch 2. Record this measurement.
With the switch in the OFF position, measure the resistance from switch contact 3 to switch contact 2. Record this measurement.
Move the switch to the ON position and repeat Steps "C" and "D". Expected Result:The contact status of the switch is correct according to the table at the beginning of this procedure with the switch in the ON position and with the switch in the OFF position.Results:
OK - All of the resistance checks for the switch contacts are correct in both of the switch positions. The switch is working correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - The switch contact states are not correct according to the table at the beginning of this procedure. The switch operation is not correct.Repair: Replace the "blade constant downforce enable" switch. After the switch is replaced, verify that the operation of the switch is correct before operating the machine.STOPTest Step 2. CHECK THE RETURN CIRCUIT FOR AN OPENThe disconnect switch and the key start switch remain in the OFF position. The machine harness remains disconnected from the switch.
At the machine harness connector from the switch, connect a jumper wire between the common return contact 2 (wire A295-BK(Black)) and input contact 3 (wire N935-OR(Orange)).
Disconnect the machine harness connectors J1 and J2 from the ECM.
Measure the resistance from common return contact J1-70 (wire A295-BK(Black)) to the input contact of the switch J2-29 (wire N935-OR(Orange)).
At the machine harness connector from the switch, move the end of the jumper wire that is connected to input contact 3 (wire N935-OR(Orange)) to input contact 1 (wire N936-YL(Yellow)). The other end of the jumper wire remains connected to common return contact 2 (wire A295-BK(Black)).
Measure the resistance from common return contact J1-70 (wire A295-BK(Black)) to switch input contact J2-30 (wire N936-YL(Yellow)). Expected Result:Both of the resistance measurements are less than 5 ohms.Results:
OK - Both of the resistance measurements are less than 5 ohms. The common return circuit is not open in the machine harness. Proceed to Test Step 3.
NOT OK - One or both of the resistance measurements is greater than 5 ohms. There is an open or a bad connection in the machine harness.Repair: If both of the resistance measurements are greater than 5 ohms. there is an open or a bad connection in the common return circuit.If one of the resistance measurements is less than 5 ohms and the other measurement is greater than 5 ohms there is an open connection or a bad connection
