Left Side of Instrument Panel (7) Emergency stop switchThe instrument panel is equipped with emergency stop switch (7). The switch on the instrument panel is one of three emergency stop switches on the machine. The other two switches are located on the screed.Emergency stop switch (7) is a push button switch with two positions. The emergency stop switch is in the NORMAL position when the switch is pulled out. The switch is in the STOP position when the switch is pushed in. When the switch is in the STOP position, all of the machine functions except the engine are disabled. The emergency stop function can be activated by pressing an emergency stop switch in any of the following locations:
Instrument panel
Left screed operator control station
Right screed operator control stationEmergency stop switch (7) provides input signals to the operator control unit. The emergency stop switch has two poles. Contact "1" and contact "3" of this switch are grounded at terminal "J2-22" of the operator control unit. When the switch is in the NORMAL position, a ground signal is sent to contact "J2-33" of the operator control unit and the emergency stop function is disabled. When the switch is in the STOP position, a float signal is sent to contact "J2-33" of the operator control unit and the emergency stop function is activated. The second pole in emergency stop switch (7) controls the indicator in the switch. The indicator in the switch receives power from the circuit breaker for the operator control. The ground path for the indicator is across contact "3" and contact "4" of the second pole in the emergency stop switch. When the emergency stop switch is in the NORMAL position, the ground path for the indicator is open. When the emergency stop switch is in the STOP position, the ground path for the indicator is closed.

This location is under the left side of the instrument panel. (8) Left propel override switch (9) Right propel override switchThe machine is equipped with one left propel override switch (8) and one right propel override switch (9). A cover on the bottom of the instrument panel provides access to these switches. The cover is removed in the illustration. A decal that indicates the switch positions is attached to the cover. The propel override switches allow parking brakes to be released and the propel pumps in order to be operated without input from the machine ECM. Left propel override switch (8) controls the left wheel. Right propel override switch (9) controls the right wheel.Left propel override switch (8) and right propel override switch (9) are momentary type toggle switches with three positions. The forward position of each switch is the FORWARD position. The rearward position of each switch is the REVERSE position. The propel override switches will return to the center HOLD position, the FORWARD position, and the REVERSE position from the spring force. When either of the switches is out of the HOLD position, the parking brake solenoid is energized and the
