Fasten a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to case (23). Align the holes in the case with the holes in the support. Lower case (23) in position and install bolts (22) that hold the case.

Raise the temperature of bearing race (21) to install the race on shaft assembly (17). The tapered end of the bearing must be facing the end of the shaft.

Raise the temperature of bearing (20) and carrier for the seal (19) to install the bearing and the carrier for the seal onto the shaft.

Put seal ring (18) in position on the seal carrier.

Put shaft assembly (17) in position in the torque converter. The weight of the shaft assembly is approximately 23 kg (51 lb).

Install the lip seal in retainer (13) with Tooling (A).

Put O-ring seals (15) and (14) in position on the retainer.

Put retainer (13) in position on the support, and install bolts (12). Tighten bolts (12) to a torque of 50 7 N m (37 5 lb ft).

Put yoke (11) in position in the torque converter.
Put the O-ring seal in position in the yoke.
Install retainer (10) and the bolt. Tighten the bolt to a torque of 240 25 N m (177 18 lb ft).

Put bearings (9) in position in gears (7).
Put gears (7) in position in the planetary carrier with washers (8) and (6) on each side.

Put shaft (5) in position. Align the holes in the shafts with the holes in the carrier. Install the pin that holds the shaft in position.

Install spiral ring (3) in position in the carrier.
Put spacer (4) in position in the carrier.

Use two people to install planetary carrier (2). Align the splines on the shaft with the splines in the carrier. The weight of planetary carrier (21) is approximately 23 kg (51 lb).
