Information:

If the bottom guard is still installed, remove the bottom guard.
The pumps need to be isolated from the motors in order to determine if the pump or the motor is suspect. Perform the following procedure to isolate the pumps.

Remove the cap from the hydraulic tank.
Install the 308-6636 Vacuum Cap in place of the cap on the hydraulic tank.
Connect the air line to the vacuum cap.
For each hose (8) , remove four bolts (4) and washers in order to remove two flanges (3) .
Remove hose (8) from the suspect piston pump and allow the oil in the hose to drain into a suitable container.
Install a new 1P-3703 Rectangular Seal onto each 5P-0047 Cap .
Use bolts (7) , washers, and flanges (6) to install the 5P-0047 Covers onto the piston pump.Note: When the hoses are disconnected from the pumps, make sure that contaminates do not get into the hydraulic system.
Start the engine.Note: The hydraulic system temperature must be 40° 5°C (104 ° 9 °F) before you continue.
Set the "Brake Pedal Deceleration Function Enable Status" to "DISABLE". The setting may be changed through the "Compact Instrument Cluster" or by using Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET).

Use the configuration screen in ET to lock the parking brakes.

Configure a status screen that resembles the screen in Figure 11.
Set the engine throttle control at 3 (1200 rpm).
Release the parking brake.
Move the steering and transmission control FORWARD and to the RIGHT detent. Tooling should be installed on pressure tap (4) .
Increase the speed controller until pressure tap (4) has a reading of 7500 kPa (1088 psi).
Record the "Left Drive Pump Forward Solenoid Current" percentage at 7500 kPa (1088 psi) stall pressure.
Continue to increase the speed controller until pressure tap (4) has a reading of35000
