This Special Instruction provides the procedure that is necessary for installing the 206-7748 Cylinder Head Gp or the 223-6524 Cylinder Head Gp and the 224-1283 Cylinder Head Gasket on the G3408 Engines and on the G3408C Engines.Do not perform any procedure that is outlined in this Special Instruction until the entire Special Instruction has been read and understood.Installation

Use the following procedure to tighten the cylinder head bolts:
Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant to all bolt threads.
Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence to the following torque.Torque ... 270 27 N m (200 20 lb ft)
Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence to the following torque.Torque ... 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft)
Tighten bolts 1 through 14 according to the number sequence again to the following torque.Torque ... 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft)
Install the rocker arm group.
Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence to the following torque.Torque ... 270 27 N m (200 20 lb ft)
Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence to the following torque.Torque ... 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft)
Tighten bolts 15 through 18 according to the number sequence again to the following torque.Torque ... 390 10 N m (288 7 lb ft)
Tighten the 3/8 inch bolts (2) to the following torque.Torque ... 43 7 N m (32 5 lb ft)
Apply 6V-4876 Lubricant to the stud threads.
Tighten studs (3) to the following torque.Torque ... 35 5 N m (26 4 lb ft)
