Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.

Place wheel housing (6) on suitable blocks, as shown.
Lower the temperature of bearing cup (11). Make sure that the bearing cup is properly seated.
Use Tooling (C) in order to install the Duo-Cone seal (12) in the wheel housing.

Lower the temperature of bearing cup (10). Make sure that the bearing cup is properly seated.

Use Tooling (C) in order to install Duo-Cone seal (9). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Duo-Cone Conventional Seals - Install" for the correct procedure. Make sure that all contact surfaces are clean and dry before you install the seal.

Install bearing cone (8) on spindle (7). Note: Bearing cone (8) is a slip fit.

Use Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device in order to install wheel housing (6) on spindle (7). The weight of wheel housing (6) is approximately 395 kg (870 lb).

Install bearing cone (5) in wheel housing (6).

Use Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device in order to install reaction hub (4) on the spindle. The weight of reaction hub (4) is approximately 77 kg (170 lb).

Install retainer (2) without the shims.
Install bolts (1). Do not tighten bolts (1).
Adjust the wheel bearing. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Wheel Bearings - Adjust". End By:
Install the final drive, brake and wheel. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Final Drive, Brake and Wheel - Install".
