Before any lines are disconnected, release the air pressure from the air tank.
1. Disconnect air line (1) from the quick release valve. 2. Install air fitting (3) on the valve.3. Connect shop air line (2) to the valve to make a compression of the spring in the parking brake chamber. The shop air must be a minimum of 345 kPa (50 psi). 4. Loosen nuts (5) that hold the parking brake chamber to the bracket.5. Remove the cotter pin and pin (4) that connects the rod end to the brake lever.6. Remove the air supply from the quick release valve. 7. Disconnect air line (7). Remove nuts (5) and remove parking brake chamber (6).Install Parking Brake Chamber
1. Put parking brake chamber (1) in position on the bracket. Install nuts (2) just enough to hold the brake chamber.2. Connect air line (3) to the brake chamber. 3. Connect shop air (4) to the quick release valve. 4. Make an alignment of the rod end of the brake chamber and the lever on the parking brake. Install pin (5) and the cotter pin.5. Tighten nuts (2) that hold the brake chamber. 6. Connect air line (6) to the quick release valve.7. Make adjustments to the brake. start by:a) remove parking brake chamber 1. Remove four screws (1) and plate (2) from the brake chamber. 2. Remove yoke (3), jam nuts (6), nut (4) and stud (5) from the brake chamber.
Spring pressure is present inside the brake chamber.
3. Install tooling (A) as shown on the brake chamber. Distance "X" must be at least 16.5 mm (6.5 in.) when tooling (A) is installed.4. Tighten nut (9) of tooling (A) a small amount.5. Remove bolts (7) and plate (8) from the brake chamber. 6. Slowly loosen nut (9) of tooling (A) until the pressure of spring is released. 7. Remove cover (10) and spring (11) from the cylinder. 8. Remove piston assembly (13) from cylinder (12). 9. Remove seals (14) and (15) from the piston assembly. 10. Remove seal (16) and the O-ring seal from cylinder (12).Assemble Parking Brake Chamber
1. Put O-ring seal (1) and the dust seal in position in cylinder (2). 3. Put O-ring seal (3) in position on piston assembly (4). 3. Install dust seal (5) on the piston assembly. 4. Put the piston assembly in position in the cylinder as shown. 5. Put spring (6) and cover (7) in position in the chamber. 6. Install tooling (A) on the brake chamber assembly.7. Tighten the nut and make a compression of spring (6).8. Install plate (8) and bolts (9). Remove tooling (A) from the brake chamber. 9. Put stud (10) in position in brake chamber (11). 10. Install nut (12), jam nuts (14) and yoke (13) on the stud. 11. Put plate (15) in position and install the four screws that hold the plate in place.end by:a) install parking brake chamber
