SUBJECT: Engines Assembled with Incorrect Plugs on the Engine Oil Filter Base
PROBLEM:
Some engines have been assembled with the incorrect 9S-4190 Plugs on the engine oil filter base. The installation of the incorrect plugs decreases the bypass valve pressure there-by allowing unfiltered oil to pass into the lubrication system. Contamination of the 122-5053 Electronic Solenoid is a possibility.
SOLUTION:
Replace the incorrect 9S-4190 Plugs with the correct 5P-8196 Plugs on the engine oil filter base at locations (1) and (2).

Note: The serial number ranges listed at the beginning of this article are for identification purposes only. If a given serial number is not listed in the tables below this is because the serial number has already been reworked or the serial number is not included in this rework.
