B 1P-1861 Snap Ring Pliers 1 Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the assembly procedure, the components should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.Note: Verify that all of the components of the gear pump are clean and free of foreign material prior to installation.Note: Check all of the O-ring seals and the components for wear or damage. Replace the components, if necessary. Lubricate the O-ring seals lightly with the lubricant that is being sealed.

If two terminal bushings (20) were removed, use Tooling (A) (not shown) in order to install terminal bushings (20) into body assembly (3). Note: The seams of terminal bushings (20) should be indexed closest to the center of the body assembly.Note: The tops of bearings (20) should protrude between 5.59 mm (0.22 inch) and 5.84 mm (0.23 inch).
Install backup rings (21) onto the terminal bushings.

Install seal ring (18) and backup ring (19) on pressure plate (17).

Coat the inside of the body assembly with clean hydraulic oil.
Install pressure plate (17) into body assembly (3).

Install governor control shaft (15) and gear (16) into body assembly (3).

Install seal ring (13) and backup ring (14) into pressure plate (12).

Install pressure plate (12) into body assembly (3).

Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (11) (not shown).
Use Tool (B) in order to install snap ring (10) (not shown) and the washer.
Use Tooling (A) in order to install lip seal (9) (not shown).

If terminal bushings (4) and (7) were removed, use Tooling (A) (not shown) in order to install terminal bushings (4) and (7) into the body assembly. Note: The seams of terminal bushings (4) and (7) should be indexed closest to the center of the body assembly.Note: The tops of bearings (4) and (7) should protrude between 5.59 mm (0.22 inch) and 5.84 mm (0.23 inch).
Install backup rings (6) onto the terminal bushings.
Install dowels (7) into flange assembly (1).
Install O-ring seal (5) onto flange assembly (1).

Lubricate the sealing lips with the lubricant that is being sealed. Position flange assembly (1) and body assembly (3) for installation. Install bolts (2). End By:
Install the gear pump for the secondary steering. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Gear Pump (Secondary Steering) - Install".
