Install sixteen studs (4) into the main frame at the rear of the chassis. Tighten the studs to a torque of 550 60 N m (405 45 lb ft).
Install brackets (1) and (2) with nuts (3) and washers (5). Hand tighten the nuts. Tighten the nuts with a wrench prior to tightening with a torque wrench. Tighten the nuts to a torque of 1800 175 N m (1320 130 lb ft).

Install eight seals (33) into frame (43) with the lips to the outside. Refer to Details (C-C) and (D-D) in Illustration 3.
Install frame (43) to brackets (1) and (2) with washers (44), pins (45), bolts (46), and plate (47). Refer to Detail (C-C) in Illustration 3.Note: Use washers on both sides of the frame to eliminate side movement. Lower the rear end of the frame to the ground.Installation of Transmission Guard

Install transmission guard (6) to brackets (1) and (2) with bolts (7), washers (8), bolts (9), and nuts (10). Push the transmission guard forward against the stops on the bracket and tighten the bottom bolts. Tighten the top bolts. Install plate (11) to transmission guard (6) with bolts (12) and washers (13) .
Use stands or use wood blocks under the frame to hold the frame in a level position during assembly.Installation of Ripper Lift Cylinders and Link Assemblies
Install two seals (34) into each end of lift cylinders (42) with the lips to the outside. Refer to Details (A-A) and (F-F) in Illustration 3.
Install lift cylinders (42) to brackets (1) and (2) with pin (26), bolt (46), and plate (47). Refer to Detail (F-F) in Illustration 3.

Connect hoses (14) and (15) and hoses (16) and (17) to lift cylinders (42) and to the control valve with flanges, seals (18), bolts, and washers. Install shields (21) and (22) when hoses (16) and (17) are assembled to the rod end with bolts (20) .Note: Flanges with bolts and washers are provided with the lift cylinders and the control valve.
Check all connections for leaks. Repair any damaged connections.
Install lift cylinders (42) to frame (43) with pin (27), bolts (46), and plate (47). Refer to Detail (A-A) in Illustration 3.
Install four seals (34) in link assembly (28) with the lips to the outside. Refer to Details (B-B) and (E-E) in Illustration 3.
Install link assembly (28) to brackets (1) and (2) with pin (29), bolts (30), and nuts (31). Refer to Detail (E-E) in Illustration 3.Installation of Ripper Beams and Shanks
Install beam assembly (32) to frame (43) with pin (45), washers (44), bolts (46), and plate (47). Refer to Detail (D-D) in Illustration 3.Note: Use washers on both sides of the frame to eliminate side movement.
Connect the link assembly to the beam assembly with pin (26), bolts (46), and plate (47). Refer to Detail (B-B) in Illustration 3.
