This is a 15.5-hour job
Included in the 15.5 hours is 1.0 hour to photograph and document the failure and 0.5 hour to carry out and record the main relief valve pressure result, as per the action required in this Service Letter.
Failure to attach the requested photographs and main relief valve pressure result to the SIMSi report will result in the claim being rejected.
PARTS DISPOSITION
Hold all parts for 30 days for a possible Parts Return Request (PRR). Make sure to list the service letter program number on the packing slip and include the closed work order paperwork.
If a Parts Return Request (PRR) is not issued to you after 30 days through the Send-It-Back process, handle the parts in accordance with your warranty bulletin on warranty parts handling.
Rework Procedure
1. Confirm that the engine has the front housing overheat discoloration. Refer to Image1.1.1.

2. Photograph the front housing discoloration and attach this photo to the SIMSi report.
3. Remove the front housing. Refer to KENR8103, Disassembly and Assembly, "Housing (Front)- Remove".
4. Photograph the front of the engine with the front housing removed. Refer to Image1.2.1.

5. Attach the photograph to the SIMSi report.
6. Photograph the front housing bearing surface. Refer to Image1.3.1.

7. Attach the photograph to the SIMSi report.
8. Remove the engine. Refer to KENR7123, Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine - Remove" in order to complete this procedure.
9. Install the 453-9665 Engine Ar. Refer to KENR7123, Disassembly and Assembly, "Engine - Install".
10. Carry out the process for Test and Adjust, KENR7127, "Relief Valve (Main)-Test and Adjust"
11. Record the Relief Valve - (Main) pressure setting and document this in the SIMSi report.
