CYLINDER HEADS NOW USE REMANUFACTURED EXHAUST VALVES AnnouncementCaterpillar Remanufactured Products has recently developed a process to remanufacture exhaust valves for diesel application. This change has been implemented in several engine model Reman cylinder heads; including UTN (Upgrade-to-New) heads. Caterpillar new exhaust valves are heat-treated and have 150% more facing material than industry standard. Because Caterpillar? valves are built to exacting standards, it allows Caterpillar to provide a remanufactured valve that provides the same-as-new performance and long life.All remanufactured exhaust valves are:
? Cleaned with a special process to restore valve back to new condition
? Valve stems are restored to original print specifications
? 100% inspected for cracks
? Valve tip hardness checked
? Identified with unique part numberAny exhaust valve core that does not meet specifications is scrapped. This change does not affect the reliability or durability of the Reman cylinder heads.
