Introduction
The swashplate angle sensor is used to determine the swashplate position. The machine ECM uses the swashplate angle sensor to determine pump displacement. Use the following procedure to calibrate the swashplate angle sensor.Machine Preparation
Position the machine on level ground.
Start the engine.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F). Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Warm-up". Calibration Procedure
Monitor Procedure
Enter the "Service" menu on the monitor.
Enter password "9992".
Select "Calibration" menu.
Select "Swash Plate". Note: Engine speed will increase to 1800 rpm during calibration.
If no error occurs, the calibration was complete successfully. ET Procedure
Select the ECM for "Machine Control".
Select the "Calibrations" from the "Service" menu.
Select "Hydraulic Pumps Swash Plate Angle Calibration".
Select "Start". Note: Engine speed will increase to 1800 rpm during calibration.
If no error occurs, the calibration was completed successfully. Test Procedure
Use the following procedure to verify the pump calibration.
Start the engine.
Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° 5°C (131° 9°F).
Use the monitor to override "Warm-up Valve #1" and "Warm-up Valve #2" to the OPEN position.
Use the monitor to override "Pump #1 Cont Spool Sol" and "Pump #2 Cont Spool Sol" to 0 amps.
Use Cat ET to verify Pump #1 and Pump #2 displacement is 21 - 22 cc/rev.
Use the monitor to override "Pump #1 Cont Spool Sol" to 2 amps.
Use Cat ET to verify Pump #1 displacement is 155 - 156 cc/rev.
Return "Pump #1 Cont Spool Sol" to 0 amps.
Use Cat ET to verify Pump #1 displacement is 21 - 22 cc/rev.
Use the monitor to override "Pump #2 Cont Spool Sol" to 2 amps.
Use Cat ET to verify Pump #2 displacement is 155 - 156 cc/rev.
Return "Pump #2 Cont Spool Sol" to 0 amps.
Use Cat ET to verify Pump #2 displacement is 21 - 22 cc/rev.
Exit the override menu to cancel all overrides. Note: If the pump does not meet the test procedure specifications, perform the pump calibration procedure again.
