New faceplate ready to install on the joystick
Before proceeding to the next Step 28, reinspect and verify the following:
All connectors are properly oriented and fully seated into the board connectors.
All connectors are greased to assure a complete environmental barrier.
All three harnesses are properly routed, not twisted, and harnesses (14) and (15) are secured with cable ties.
Inspect the faceplate and inside the handle for any contamination (such as cut cable tie pieces). Remove any stray objects or contamination inside the handle.

Ensure that the wires are not in a pinch point.
Illustration 34 g03368479
Ensure that the wires are not seen in screw holes before faceplate closure and after the faceplate is seated on the handle.
Gently push all harness wires inward and away from the faceplate edge to clear the handle perimeter. Refer to Illustration 32. Once the harness wires are correctly positioned, close the faceplate. View the two screw holes on the back of the handle. Verify that the wires are not pinched in the screw hole. Hold the faceplate closed until the original two screws are installed and seated.
Two spare screws are provided in the kit. Using the two original screws or the provided screws, install the two screws (4) in the holes. Using torque screwdriver, or a similar torque driver, lightly torque each screw to seat the screws. Then, torque the screws to 0.6 N m to 1.1 Nm (5 lb in to 10 lb in). Do not over torque the screws. Correct torque will ensure that the screws are properly seated. Inspect both screws to assure they are seated. Inspect the faceplate seams on the handle to assure the faceplate is seated.
