Disconnect connector (28) from proportional reducing valve (30).
Install multitach group (C1) on engine (21). This group is used to monitor engine speed. Idler Pump
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Perform the test for the drive pump and the test for the idler pump one at a time.

Position the machine on level ground.
Stop the engine.
Release the pressure in the hydraulic system. Refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Hydraulic System Pressure - Release".
Attach 311-1362 Vacuum Cap onto the hydraulic tank. Attach an air supply hose onto the assembly. Apply 276 to 414 kPa (40 to 60 psi). This procedure will pull a vacuum on the hydraulic system.
Install the following tools in accordance with the flow meter tool layout and the circuit diagram. Refer to Illustration 5 and Illustration 6.
Disconnect delivery line (11) from idler pump (24).
Install seal (D15), half flanges (D13), and blocking cover (D16) to the end of delivery line (11) by using bolts (D11) and washers (D12).
Assemble and install seal (D15), adapter (D14), seals (D4), fitting (D10) and nipple assembly (D5) on idler pump (24) by using seal (D21), plug (D22), half flanges (D13), bolts (D11) and washers (D12).

Disconnect makeup line (4) from connector (2) at swing motor (1).
Assemble and install seals (D18), tee (D20), swivel elbow (D19) and coupling (D17) to connector (2) at swing motor (1).
Install seal (D18) and makeup line (4) to tee (D20).
Remove 311-1362 Vacuum Cap and install the filler plug for the hydraulic tank.
Connect portable hydraulic tester (D1) and the test hoses between nipple assembly (D5) at drive pump (23) and coupling (D17) at the swing motor.
Connect 3447 kPa (500 psi) pressure sensor to pressure tap (50) for power shift pressure. Connect 41368 kPa (6000 psi) pressure sensor to pressure tap (8) for the delivery pressure of the idler pump.
