Position suitable cribbing next to planetary carrier (3). Carefully slide planetary gear (9) from planetary carrier (3) and onto the suitable cribbing. The weight of planetary gear (9) is approximately 61 kg (135 lb).

Remove sleeve bearing (11) from planetary gear (9). Sleeve bearing (11) is a slip fit to planetary gear (9).
Repeat Steps 6.a through 6.h for the remaining planetary gears (9).

Remove bolts (12) and retainer (13).

Install Tooling (D) in the hole of hub (15). Repeat this step for the two remaining holes.
Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D). Carefully remove hub (15) and gear (16) as a unit. The combined weight of hub (15) and of gear (16) is approximately 320 kg (705 lb).

Position hub (15) and gear (16) on suitable cribbing so that bearing cone (18) is facing upward.
Remove bolts (17) that hold ring (19) in the groove of gear (16).
Remove ring (19) from gear (16).

Install Tooling (D) in the holes of hub (15) again.
Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (D). Carefully remove hub (15) from gear (16). The weight of hub (15) is approximately 193 kg (425 lb). The weight of gear (16) is approximately 127 kg (280 lb).

Remove bearing cone (18) from hub (15).

Secure Tooling (E) to wheel (4). Attach a suitable lifting device to Tooling (E).
Use the suitable lifting device in order to carefully remove wheel (4) from spindle (20). The weight of wheel (4) is approximately 430 kg (950 lb).

Use Tooling (E) in order to lower wheel (4) to a horizontal position.

Remove Duo-Cone seal (23).
Use a suitable hammer and a suitable punch in order to remove bearing cups (21) and (22).
