HOSE AS 3547974 - Caterpillar

1. Remove bolts (1) from the pump.2. Pull up on the fuel transfer pump and remove it from the housing.Install Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Push the pump down into position in the housing.2. Install the bolts that hold it in place.Disassemble Fuel Transfer Pump
start by: a) remove fuel transfer pump 1. Remove the bolts from the cover of the fuel transfer pump.2. Remove the nut from the pump drive gear. 3. Install screw clamp (A). Tighten the bolt on clamp (A) to remove the pressure on gear. 4. Install press fixture (B). Remove the gear from the shaft with a press.5. Remove key from shaft. Remove the press fixture (B) and screw clamp (A).6. Remove the two pump gears and shaft from body.7. Remove cage, seal and washer from body. 8. Remove bushing from body with bushing driver (C).9. Remove bushing, lip-type seal and retainer from cage with bushing driver (C).10. Remove O-ring seals from retainer and cage.Assemble Fuel Transfer Pump
1. Clean all parts thoroughly before assembling pump.2. Install the bushings in the cage and body with bushing driver (A).3. Install the lip-type seal in cage with tooling (C).4. Install O-ring seal on retainer. Install retainer in cage.5. Install O-ring seals on cage.6. Install the pump gears and shaft in the body. 7. Install seal installing guide (B) on end of shaft. Put SAE 10 engine oil on the seal installing guide, shaft and sealing surface of seal.8. Install washer and seal (1) on shaft. 9. Install cage (2) on body.10. Remove seal installing guide (B) from shaft.11. Install key and gear on shaft. Install nut and tighten to 22 5 lb.ft. (3.0 0.7 mkg).12. Put a thin layer of 8S6747 Liquid Gasket Material on body and cover.
Do not allow gasket material to enter pump.
13. Install cover and bolts. After tightening bolts in cover, the shaft must turn freely.end by: a) install fuel transfer pump
