Press and hold the control mode switch (6) in order to enter calibration mode (mode 2) of the ECM. Release the switch when "-2-" is shown in the display area (1) .
Press and hold the display mode switch (5) in the INCREMENT position in order to enter subcalibration c03. The front calibration of the steering mode switch is performed in the subcalibration c03 mode. Release the switch when c03 is shown on display readout (1) .
Ensure that the steering mode switch is in the FRONT position.
Store the value of the signal that is sent from the steering mode switch position sensor. Press and hold the display mode switch (5) in the CLEAR/STORE position in order to store the value of the signal. Observe the status of the yellow and red indicators while the switch is in the store position. Release the clear switch. Expected Result: The yellow indicator blinks or the red indicator flashes on.Result:
Yellow indicator blink - Proceed to next step.
Red indicator flash on - Check that the steering mode switch is at the FRONT position. Repeat Step 5. If the red indicator is flashed again, troubleshoot the steering mode switch. Check for diagnostic codes for the steering mode switch position sensor. If the sensor is faulty, replace the sensor. If a CID 747 F13 diagnostic code is still present and the calibration of the sensor is failed, replace the steering mode switch position sensor.
Press and hold the display mode switch (5) in the INCREMENT position in order to enter subcalibration c04 mode. COORDINATED position calibration of the steering mode switch is performed in the subcalibration c04 mode. Release the switch when c04 is shown on display readout (1) .
Ensure that the steering mode switch is in the COORDINATED position.
Store the value of the signal that is sent from the steering mode switch position sensor. Press and hold the display mode switch (5) in the CLEAR/STORE position in order to store the value of the signal. Observe the status of the yellow and red indicators while the switch is in the store position. Release the clear switch.Expected Result: The yellow indicator blinks or the red indicator flashes on.Result:
Yellow indicator blink - Proceed to next step.
Red indicator flash on - Check that the steering mode switch at the COORDINATED position. Repeat Step 9. If the red indicator is flashed again, troubleshoot the rear steering position sensor. Check for diagnostic codes for the steering mode switch position sensor. If the sensor is faulty, replace the sensor. If a CID 747 F13 diagnostic code is still present and the calibration of the sensor is failed, replace the steering mode switch position sensor.
