Connect ET to the engine ECM and look at the ECM serial number from the information screen. If the ECM serial number matches any of the following ECM serial numbers replace the ECM. The ECM Serial Numbers that may have the issue are:

No other ECM's in the field are affected by this defect issue.

PARTS DISPOSITION
A Part Return request will be issued for these parts after the warranty cliam is filed.
Rework Procedure
1.) Supply power to the electronic control module (ECM) but do not start the engine.
2.) Connect Electronic Technician (ET) to the data link.
3.) Note the software part number in the ECM Summary Screen and the ECM serial number.
4.) If the ECM serial number does NOT match the seven serial numbers listed in this letter then no further action is required. If the ECM serial number DOES match the serial numbers listed then proceed to step 5.
5.) Use the ET Copy Configuration - ECM Replacement funtion to load the configuration from the ECM. Make note to save the configuration. Disconnect ET.
6.) Turn off the supply power to the ECM.
7.) Replace the ECM with the appropriate ECM service replacement.
8.) Turn on the supply power to the ECM, but do NOT start the engine.
9.) Connect ET to the data link.
10.) Flash the ECM with the appropriate flash file.
11.) Using the ET Copy Configuration - ECM Replacement function, load the saved configuration from the file where it was saved and program the ECM.
12.) Test the engine after Repair.
