This CID 0596 FMI 14 diagnostic code is associated with the communication between the Implement ECM 2 and the Implement ECM that is conducted on the Cat Data Link.The FMI 14 means that the Implement ECM 2 is communicating with the Implement ECM on the involved data link. However, the Implement ECM 2 is not receiving expected operating parameter information from the Implement ECM.When the CID 0596 FMI 14 diagnostic code is activated by the Implement ECM 2, a companion diagnostic code will be activated in order to indicate the data link that is involved. The companion diagnostic code that has been activated will be either of the following diagnostic codes:CID 0248 FMI 14 - Cat Data LinkDetermine the companion diagnostic codes that have been activated along with the CID 0596 FMI 14 diagnostic code in order to indicate the data link system that is involved.Note: After the CID 0596 FMI 14 diagnostic code has been cleared, the data link companion diagnostic code will also clear. A new ECM has been installed and the ECM is not the correct part.Note: Ensure that the CID 0596 FMI 14 diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.Test Step 1. DETERMINE THE COMPANION DIAGNOSTIC CODE OF THE DATA LINK THAT IS ACTIVENote: If incorrect software or an incorrect control module is causing the problem, both of the companion diagnostic codes of the data link may be active.
