2. Remove bolts (1), the lock (if so equipped), shaft assembly (2) and gear (3). Remove the washer from shaft assembly (2). 3. Remove washer (6) from the shaft.
Typical Example4. Fasten a hoist to flywheel housing (7) as shown. Remove bolts (4) and locks (if so equipped) that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. Remove flywheel housing (7). The weight is 350 lb. (159 kg).Install Flywheel Housing
1. Install a new gasket for the flywheel housing. Install two 1/2"-13 NC guide bolts (not shown) in the cylinder block. Fasten a hoist and put flywheel housing (1) in position against the cylinder block. 2. Install locks (3) (if so equipped) and bolts (4) that hold the flywheel housing to the cylinder block. Make sure bolts at locations 7 and 2 in the sequence are installed in the position shown. These bolts are shorter in length and must be installed in the location shown. Tighten the bolts that hold the flywheel housing in the sequence shown in the illustration.3. Cut the flywheel housing gasket even with the oil pan face of the cylinder block. 4. Put clean grease on washer (2) and install washer (2) on the shaft. 5. Install the washer on shaft assembly (5).6. Put gear (7) and shaft assembly (5) in position and install lock (if so equipped) and bolts (6) that hold them in place.7. Install electric starting motor (8).
